VTR (Variable Thickness Ring) is the innovative intrastromal corneal ring with different thickness in the same segment for adapting to the tomographic features of the ectatic corneal pathologies. Its shape is elliptical and it is made of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA). Available in different arch lengths and different thickness. Early diagnosis of keratoconus and corneal stabilization after CXL have generated a large number of patients with mild and moderate stable keratoconus. VTR is the best way to improve the visual performance of these patients.

ARC LENGTH

Available in two different arch lengths: 120° and 160°

The 120° VTR presents the thickest part at one of the two edges of the ring.
The 160° VTR presents the thickest part in the centre of the ring.

THICKNESS

Available in different thickness ranged from 200μm to 400μm

OPTICAL ZONE

VTR describe an optical zone of 5 or 6 mm.

PIERCING HOLES

Along the extension of the VTR are present multiple piercing holes to guarantee corneal metabolism.
